Zamboanga Sibugay - Police elements of Talusan MPS together with Fish
Warden of BFAR-Talusan conducted joint operation against Illegal Fishing at the
Municipal Sea Water of Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 1:30 PM on March 8,
2019.
The operation led to the confiscation of two (2) units motorized
fishing boats commonly known as (Hulbot-hulbot) with markings “Baby Boy” and
the other has no markings (color green) with active fishing gears, managed and
operated by Lando Eleksyon Papaya, 36 years old, married and a resident of
Timbang-timbang, Alicia of this province.
The other suspects were identified as follows; 1.) Renato Rabunes, 26
years old, single; 2.) Liliano Yurong, 47 years old, married; 3.) Jesus Aro, 32
years old, married; and 4.) Jay-ar San Nicholas, 24 years old, single, all
residents of Barangay Timbang-timbang of the said municipality.
They were charge for Violation of Unified Fishery Ordinance (UFO) using
active fishing gear. Confiscated from their possession are as follows: two (2)
fine mesh nets estimated at eighteen (18) meters long and two (2) units wooden
boats with a Llamada engine.
Arrested persons and confiscated items were brought to Talusan MPS.
