The annual celebration aimed to promote community awareness and participation, to give tribute to fellow comrades for the bravery, dedication and sacrifice in the performance of duties and to commemorate the birth of the police service in the country.
One of the highlights of its 115th year was the giving of awards and recognition to deserving PNP units and personnel. Special award was also given to outstanding Municipality and to the police personnel who died during the implementation of Project Tokhang.

The 115th Police Service Celebration is in commemoration of the joint founding anniversaries of the Insular Constabulary established in 1901 and the Integrated National Police organized in 1975, both forerunner organizations of the PNP.It was graced by PDIG Ronald M. Dela Rosa , Chief PNP, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his message, he cited the performance of PRO9 under the leadership of Police Chief Superintendent Billy Baldemor Beltran for the relentless efforts in the fight against all forms of criminality in Zamboanga Penisula especially in the fight against illegal drugs.
