Languyan LGU conducts anti-terrorism and illegal drugs summit

Languyan, Tawi – Tawi – The Local Government Unit here  conducted the  anti-terrorism and illegal drugs summit last August 23, 2017 at the municipal gymnasium in order to educate the constituents about the effects of drugs and terrorsim in the country.

The said LGU summit attended by different sectors coming from 20 barangays of Languyan headed by their barangay captains, barangay officials and other concern citizens.

The municipal mayor Yshmael E. Sali who led the summit told the participants regarding the mandate of the President Rodrigo Roa  Duterte regarding the war on drugs in the country.

He urge the people to participate the programs of the government in order to avoid a bloody oplan tokhang of the police here, as well as the recent pronouncement of the president after the bloody encounter between the police and  Parojinog’s clan  in Ozamis City just recently.

Mayor Sali urging the people to please help the government to protect the people against terrorism and stop illegal drugs and be a good citizens for the good of the municipality, said the mayor.

“Tingnan nyo ang Marawi ngayon, halos hindi na makinabangan, wasak na lahat ang pinaghirapan nila dahil yan sa illegal na droga. Pag andyan ang illegal na droga andiyan din kasama ang terrorismo, gusto ninyo ba  na katulad nila, syempre ayaw natin diba, so gawin natin ang tama para sa lahat”, the mayor lauded.
 

The half day LGU summit was very successful through the help of some speakers coming from Languyan Municipal Police Office led by P/Insp. Oniel Jay S. Dumayas who handled the overview of RA 9165 and process to be certified as a Drug Cleared Barangay, While Dr. Leonardo D. Wee who lectured about the effects of illegal drug abuse, Ustadz Abdulkhabir I. Musa on religious sector also lectured the Islamic Perspective on Terrorism and Illegal drugs and while LGOOV/MLGOO-DILG Aldin S. Asiri also portraying the effects of illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, Police Senior Superintendent Jerich Tan Royales also urging the Languyan people to please help the police to implement the anti-drug campaign because this is for everybody’s concern. “We should vigilant and concern about drug abuses in our barangays because thru this, criminalities will follows”, Royales said.

On the other hand, the municipal government of Languyan hosted the long week celebration of  44th Kamahardikaan Sin Tawi-Tawi this coming September 23 – 27, 2017. Aside the long-week celebration of the province, the municipality also celebrating of their 40th Kamahardikaan Sin Languyan or the 40th Founding Anniversary,

Mayor Yshmael Sali said, that his municipality are ready to host the double long week celebrations both municipal and provincial activities.

During the incoming celebrations, the municipal government introduces their new tourists spots, the World clas Sikulis Beach Resorts and Birraddali water falls.(By: Becky D. de Asis/The Redline News Philippines)
