To highlight the culture and
tradition of the Indigenous People in the Province of Cotabato the provincial
government of Cotabato once again held the Kavurunan Festival (Aug 28-29, 2018)
as an important part of the Kalivungan Festival. Around 500 IPs from different
municipalities and lone city of Kidapawan joined the said festivity at the
Provincial Pavillion just earlier.
Governor Emmylou
"Lala" Taliño Mendoza graced the occasion and expressed her
thankfulness to the different tribes that joined the festival.
The Kavurunan
also paved the way for IPs or Lumads to show their talents and skills through
music, songs, dances, and rituals.
This is also a way for them to preserve
