President Rodrigo Roa Duterte banged an agong on Friday, March 29, to
officially mark the inauguration of the new Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in
Muslim Mindanao.
In his speech, he expressed his 'extreme happiness' for "we were
able to realize at least the part, maybe not all, but the part of what the
entire country could have wished for the Moro people of Mindanao".
He said the creation of the new Bangsamoro government is a step closer
to achieving a peaceful autonomous region that serves all Muslims, Christians,
Lumads, and Indigenous People, whose home is Mindanao.
During the inauguration ceremony, the members of the Bangsamoro
Transition Authority took an oath of moral governance on the Holy Qur'an that
they will perform their duties with utmost dedication, devotion, honesty,
justice, integrity, and to completely avoid all the evils of governance,
especially graft and corruption.
Ending his speech, President Duterte reiterated his 'solemn promise to
Allah' that in his term for the next three years, his government will truly
work for the benefit of the Bangsamoro people. (Posted by Becky D.de Asis-The Redline News)
