Zamboanga City, Philippines – After more than 2 years being a battalion commander of the 5th
infantry (duty bound) battalion, Army Colonel Marces T. Gayat has fully
completed his mission being a commander of the said battalion.
Before he was a battalion commander of the 5th Infantry
Battalion, he was also a battalion commander of
Kamandag Battalion in Sulu, the 35th Infantry (Makamandag) Battalion .
The army battalion who lambasted and penetrated the terrorists group in Sulu, the Abussayaf headed by Isnilon Hapilon.

Accordingly, Marces Gayat initiated the pangkabuhayan
program of military in Sulu. He created or initiated the” 35th Spanish Sardines” one of the alternative projects
of the 35th Battalion to gain additional income for their dependents.
He initiated also the Young Leaders of Sulu in order to trained the young people more
particular the out of school youth penetrated
by lawless elements in the area.
Recently, the said Young Leaders of Sulu visited Malaysia, a tour of duty to expose the youth in order to observe the country on how be a good leader, progressive and well develop country without harassments.
Therefore, Col. Marces T. Gayat, a full pledged army
officials of the 5th Infantry (Duty Bound) Battalion gave his duty to the newly Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Billy O. Delarosa in order to accept the new
mission in the 1st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.
