Jolo, Sulu –
President Rodrigo
Duterte ordered military troops
to crush down the Abu Sayyaf after beheaded another captive Patrick James Almodovar, 18 years old when
their family did not pay ransom after
the ultimatum lapse last Wednesday afternoon (August 24), according to
Brigadier General Arnel Dela Vega, commander of Joint Task Force Sulu.
Almodovar
was abducted when he went out with friends on July 24. According to his mother
“Annie,” she received a call from alleged kidnappers demanding P1 million for
his release.
Almodovar
mother appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte asking help to free his son because their
family unable to come up the ransom money. She only collected P100,000.00 from
friends and family.
But on
August 24 at about 7:30 in the afternoon, the head of the victim was recovered
in Barangay Kadjatian, Indanan, Sulu after the ultimatum lapsed, said Major
Felimon Tan, Jr, spokesperson of Western Mindanao Command.
After the
reports reached by the President, he ordered soldiers to “Kill the enemies of the
state,” Immediately, the president ordered the Armed Forces of the Philippines
to deploy additional troops in Sulu and Basilan to track-down the bandits and crush them.
Duterte was angered of beheading of some kidnap victims particular in Sulu by Abussayaf.. He want to
kill immediately the enemy of the state as soon as possible because this kind of activities, a barbaric and
evil, he said.
