A Path towards a brighter tomorrow. - DPWH-ARMM

DPWH-ARMM Secretary Don Loong (left) with Basilan District Engineer Soler I. Undug  (right) extremely surprised the magistic Mahayahay water falls in Maluso Basilan while conducted  projects in the said area.

Basilan - The nine kilometers stretch of road concreting from Maluso Highway to Lower and Upper Mahayahay and from Upper Mahayahay to Punoh Mahadje is a part of 55-kilometer transcentral road worth 1.225 billion.

The transcentral road will traverse the rugged hinterland terrains and armed group havens at the center of Basilan Province. This will connect the towns of Maluso, Sumisip and Lamitan through the barangays of Lower and Upper Mahayahay in Maluso, barangay Tumahubong in Sumisip and Barangay Sta. Clara in Lamitan City.

This project will also boom tourism in the province since this will also link the different potential tourist spots.

One of these tourist spots is the undisturbed majestic Mahayahay falls, a hidden beauty of nature situated in the municipality of Maluso in the province of Basilan.

The construction of the trans-central road is a flagship project of ARMM.

This is designed to spur economic development and improve the peace and order condition in the province. Its completion will provide the security forces easy access to the area.
