It is best to know the provisions of the SK Reform Act of 2015, which
will serve as a guide in drawing up your campaign platform.
The National Youth
Commission calls on SK candidates to take time to review the salient provisions
of the SK Reform law or RA 1074 to familiarize themselves on the expected
duties and responsibilities as SK leaders.
“It is very important for the SK
candidates to learn what the SK Reform Act of 2015 contains, especially, on the
duties and responsibilities that are expected from them once they get elected,”
NYC OIC Chairman Ronald Cardema said.
Under the SK Reform law, the elected SK
officials must undergo the mandatory training jointly supervised by NYC and
DILG before they can take their oaths of office.
“We are given this chance to
nurture a new breed of youth community leaders who are imbued with commitment,
enthusiasm, and passion to serve the youth sector and to create positive
changes in their respective communities.
The vacuum on youth governance will
soon be resolved. Let us all seize this opportunity to make the Duterte
administration's vision of an involved and patriotic youth be realized,”
Cardema added. The campaign period for the SK elections begins on Friday, May
4, 2018.
During this period, the SK candidates can finalize their platform of
governance that they can publicly announce later as they make use of the SK
Reform Act as guide (Posted by: Becky D. de Asis-The Redline News)
