ITCZ to bring scattered rain showers over parts of Mindanao Saturday

 MANILA -- The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will bring scattered rain showers over parts of the region, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

Western Visayas, Caraga, northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The bureau warned these areas of possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate, and at times, heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds will prevail over the entire archipelago with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA/By Ma. Cristina Arayata}
