PRRD warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan


President Rodrigo Roa Duterte warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan in an arrival ceremony at the Malacañan Palace Grounds.
The Prime Minister is in the country for a two-day official visit in Manila and Davao City, the President’s hometown, from January 12-13, 2017. He is also the first foreign leader to visit the Philippines under the administration.
After the arrival ceremony, President Duterte introduced Prime Minister Abe to his Cabinet members. The two leaders then walked going to Malacañan Palace and the President invited the Prime Minister to sign the official guest book.
In a statement delivered at the Summit Meeting between the two countries’ delegations, the Japanese Prime Minister said that he chose the Philippines as the first destination of his overseas visit this year, a testament to the strong relations between the two nations.
