Young Leaders of Sulu and 35IB Donate Trash Cans

The faculty and staff of different schools in Sulu gladly receive the trash cans from the 35IB Makamandag Battalion and Young Leaders of Sulu.


Patikul, Sulu, Philippines(The Redline News Phil) -As a first time activity for 2017, he Young Leaders of Sulu and the 35th Infantry (Makamandag) Battalion donated trash cans to selected schools in Sulu.

Along with YLS representative, Miss SaffrheaSencio, personnel of 35IB based at ATO, Liang, Patikul, Sulu took the lead in going around the different target schools that were selected as beneficiaries for the donation.

In all, a total of 17 trash cans were turned over to the schools. Among those that benefited from the donation were Sheik Mustafa Elementary School, Don Godines, Jolo, Sulu; Jolo School of Fisheries, Jolo, Sulu; Sulu National High School, Bangcal, Patikul, Sulu and Kasulutan Elementary School, Kasulutan, Jolo, Sulu.

“The activity was part of the joint stakeholder actions of the Young Leaders of Sulu and 35IB”, remarked LTC VLADIMIR VILLANUEVA, the commander of the 35th IB, “which seeks to promote awareness among youth especially when it comes to the promotion of our environment.”

Other than promoting a clean environment among the students, this also provides a good avenue to channel the creative energies of the youth leaders to productive pursuits rather than joining the Abu Sayyaf Group.
