50 core houses of ARMM-BRIDGE program in Patikul started - Engr. Abdulmunir I. Hadjirul

The group Engineers of DPWH Ist Engineering District conducted project inspection of 30 core shelters on Bitih, BunBun, Patikul, Sulu.
Jolo, Sulu -  The Bangsamoro Regional Inclusive Development for Growth and Empowerment program of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao or ARMM-BRIDGE to utilizes a modified community development approach as “Apat na Dapat” program model which is focused on poverty alleviation by targeting the four most basic needs of the poorest among the poor – water and sanitation, food, shelter and light.

District Engineer Abdulmunir I. Hadjirul of 1st Engineering District of Sulu started to implement the core houses in Bitih, Barangay Bun Bun, Patikul of the said province. He said that this is the first implementation of ARMM-BRIDGE here.


Hadjirul said, that these 30  core houses in Bun Bun (on-going)  are the first batch out of 50 houses to be implemented in Patikul alone  but the  nearby municipalities of 1st District there will be  an additional target for  another ARMM-BRIDGE project implementation like in Barangay's of  Kabun Maas, Tubig Dakula, Kagay and Pasil all in the municipality of Indanan wherein high on poverty  recorded.

Meanwhile, DPWH Secretary Mustapha “ Don” Loong also added, the ARMM-BRIDGE  program is a follow up to the ARMM Social Fund Project that ended last year. It complements the Health, Education, Livelihood, Peace and Governance and Synergy program of the regional government and this is the only of the ARMM Government to enhance the living condition of the people here and this is the part of the flagship program of the national government the poverty reduction program by giving the poor the whole living package.



Governor Hataman also  said , the program aims at alleviating the poverty incidence among residents by targeting 600 poor families across the region under the program’s first swing of implementation. In order to implement these components, a budget of at least P204 million is required, he said.
