2016 Multi-billion projects in Sulu implemented – Engr. Abdulmunir I. Hadjirul

Jolo, Sulu , Philippines - At least 70 multi-billion projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 1st  Engineering district Sulu are almost completed and implemented despite some problem encountered in the implementation due to the unstable peace and order in the province.

District Engineer Abdulmunir I. Hadjirul said there are more than  70 projects includes the farm-to-market roads, concreting of all streets along Jolo markets and other areas, water systems, construction of some drainage and canals, expansion of Jolo seaports, construction of seawalls in different areas, deep-wells and other projects implemented in eight municipalities.

Hadjirul said that the municipalities inside the 1st district of Sulu are the following, Jolo, Patikul, Maimbung, Panglima-Tahil, Talipao, Indanan, Pangutaran and Parang.

He added that the eight municipalities are now benefited the multi-billion projects of the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.

Engr. Hadjirul also said this 2015 multi-billion projects are fully implemented in 2016. Because almost the budget released only in 2016, they immediately implemented the projects even the budget is not fully-released, he added.

 “We want to give good services for the people of Sulu,” said Hadjirul in an interview lately . The water works expansion and source development in Jolo project is the only project of the DPWH, 1st district remaining project because they are waiting the World-field constructor, said the District Engineer.

The project amounted to P70 Million. Hadjirul also said that 2016 budget for 1st district-Sulu are 56 proposed projects and it was already approved in the regions.

 The projects include the additional Farm-to-Market roads in 8 municipalities, major roads, connecting roads, municipal roads, provincial roads, seaport rehabilitations, sea shore protections, water system, renovation and expansion of DPWH office.
