Farmer shot to death by co-farmers in Naga, Zambo-Sibugay

Zamboanga City, Philippines - Shooting incident transpired at sitio Pangpang, Barangay Bangkaw-Bangkaw, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 10:50 AM of November 17, 2016.

The victim identified as Jessie Paul  Abdurahim, 59 years old, married, male and resident of Purok Dama De Noche Barangay Poblacion, Naga, was shot to death by a certain Hasim Alsree Y Baladji, 52 years old, male, resident of Barangay Bangkaw-Bangkaw, Naga.

Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident victim identified as Jessie Paul together with his brother in law Rico Ong Esperanza, 56 years old, married and a resident of Purok Dama De Noche, Barangay Poblacion Naga, preceeded to the mentioned place of incident purposely to cultivate the family farm land of the victim.

After a few minutes  of the same day , the suspect Hasim Alsree arrived and had conversation with the victim but after a few minutes it resulted to a heated argument that subsequently turned into a shoot-out as both the suspect and the victim drew their respective firearms, a caliber .45 pistol based on the recovered empty shells from the crime scene and also the testimony of the witness.

Further investigation revealed that the son of the suspect identified as Jhon Paul Alsree arrived and also shot the victim.

Suspect Hasim sustained gunshot wounds on different parts of his body and was immediately brought by his direct family to Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital for medication while his son escaped towards unknown direction after the incident.

It also revealed that the victim and the suspect/s are relatives by blood and the suspect Hasim was the former tenant of the parents of the victim. Motive of incident is believed to be land conflict.
