The
Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Team and Regional Public Safety
battalionb 12 personnel raided the compaound around 2 a.m. but no drugs found,
instead they recovered a number of assorted assault riffles, like shorguns,
handguns for which the mayor could not
show any documents or permits.
The
arrest happened after judges Alex Betota issued 4 warrants aginst the mayor.
The
mayor was taken to Cotabato Provincial Police Office in Amas, Kidapawan for
further investigation and filing appropriate charges against him.
Accordingly,
the said mayor who was among the narco-politicians publicly accused by
President Rodrigo R. Duterte last August
of involving drug trade in Mindanao.
The
arrest of Mayor Cuan happened a day
after Datu Saudi Ampatuan Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom was killed in shootout in
Makilala, North Cotabato along with his 9 security guards just earlier. (by:
