– Police Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran said that the recent abduction of Elmer
and Nora Romoc with their son Ericson Romoc last August 5, 2016 by seven unidentified persons
who were armed with high-powered firearms, clad in camouflaged uniforms and
wearing bonnets at the victim’s residence in Barangay Kulisap, Payao, Zamboanga
Sibugay was released by their abductors, said police official yesterday.
The released at about 7:15 in the morning of November 15, 2016, the Kidnap Victim Elmer
Romoc arrived in Zamboanga City after he was released from captivity by his
captors in Jolo, Sulu.
The kidnap
victim, who arrived from Jolo on board a passenger vessel m/v bounty cruiser,
was fetched by elements of AKG MFU led by Police Senior Inspector Mike D.Diaz together
with members of the Romoc family after disembarking from the said vessel at the
port of Zamboanga city.
Subsequently, the kidnap victim Elmer Romoc was
brought to the PNP health service 9 in Camp Batalla, Zamboanga City for medical
examination and stress debriefing and thereafter he was brought to the office
of AKG MFU for debriefing. T
The release of kidnap victim was made through
a series of negotiations initiated by personnel of AKG9 MFU, who assumed
operational jurisdiction on the incident, after his captors made ransom demands
for his release and captivity.
As of presstime the remaining kidnap victims of
