Barangay Kagawad was shot to death by unidentified gunmen

Zamboanga City, Philippines - Shooting incident transpired along National Highway In front Of Junction Barangay Cayamcam, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 3:00 PM of November 6, 2016, wherein one Jonie Cesneros Denoy, 31 years old, married, appointed Barangay Kagawad and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Cayamcam, Tungawan was shot to death by two unidentified suspects.

 Initial investigation conducted revealed that the victim earlier came from Zamboanga City on board the rural transit bus. that when the bus stopped at the national highway near the intersection of Barangay Cayamcam, Tungawan the victim alighted the bus while the two gunmen riding in tandem a motorcycle was possibly expecting him (victim) and shot the victim at the face causing its untimely death.

Upon the withdrawal of the two unidentified suspects, the duty PPSC personnel of COMPAC located at Barangay Cayamcam, Tungawan, immediately intervened and fired and hit one of the gunmen (back rider) however the suspects still manage to escape going to the Zamboanga City direction.

The physical evidence recovered during the crime scene investigation one (1) live ammunition of Cal .45 ACP, three (3) fired cartridges of Cal .45 ACP, one (1) unit cellular phone Samsung brand,  one (1) pc wallet colored green containing the following items: one (1) pc armed forces of the Philippines I.D. card (enlisted personnel reservist), two (2) pcs nonprofessional drivers I.D. card, one (1) pc one thousand peso bill, one (1) pc one dollar brunei currency bill, other personal documents.

 The victim was declared dead by one of the municipal health officer under the authority of Dr. Corazon C. Perigrino of Tungawan Municipal Health Office.

 The dead body was turned over to the immediate family right after the conduct of the crime scene investigation. Tungawan Municipal Police Station is still conducting further investigation for possible identification of the perpetrators and filing of appropriate charges in court.
