(PDEA) Regional Office 12, Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO), CPPO-
PPSF, Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) – Cotabato, Regional Intelligence
Division (RID) 12, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) 12, 4th SAB-SAF,
Pigcawayan Municipal Police Station, 34th Infantry Battalion – Philippine Army
and 7th Infantry Battalion – Philippine Army conducted Search Warrant
implementation against three notorious drug personalities in Barangay Buricain,
Pigcawayan, Cotabato last April 6, 2017
at around 8:30 in the morning.
Prior to the search, a firefight which lasted for about five (5)
minutes happened when an unidentified group of armed men fired on the raiding
team resulted the of arrest of the
targets said police.
Police said, while searching at the residence of certain Roger Akmad Alias Roger Sampillo police recovered four (4) medium sachets of suspected shabu
weighing more or less twenty (20) grams with estimated value of One hundred
fifty thousand pesos (Php 150,000.00).
Meanwhile at the residence of Lolly Sampillo Abas, police also recovered five (5) large and two (2) small sachets of
suspected shabu weighing more or less forty (40) grams with an estimated value
of Three hundred thousand pesos (Php 300,000.00), several drug paraphernalia
and one (1) notebook containing illegal drug transactions.
Another Search warrant was implemented against Udtog Akmad alias Udtog
Sampillo, police recovered another One
(1) large and three (3) medium sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less
twenty (20) grams with estimated value of One hundred fifty thousand pesos (Php
150,000.00), one (1) homemade 12 gauge shotgun, four hundred (400) pieces Two
hundred peso (Php 200.00) bills and one thousand seven hundred (1,700) pieces
One hundred peso (Php 100.00) bills.
The raiding team also recovered were eight (8) suspected carnapped
motorcycles, one (1) caliber 5.56 M16 rifle, two (2) caliber 7.62 M14 rifles
both with magazines with nineteen (19) rounds of live ammunition, one (1)
improvised 7.62 sniper rifle and one (1) barrett caliber 50 sniper rifle
recovered during clearing of the marshy banks of the said area. The motorcycles
were turned over to LTO and HPG for verification while the recovered firearms
are in the custody of CPPO for ballistic examination.
The group of the Akmads and Abas are known for their illegal drug
business in areas of Cotabato Province and Maguindanao.
Police filed Cases to the suspects for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II
of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and
