Davao City (The Redline News Philippines) - Police Senior Superintendent
Alexander Tagum, former North
Cotabato Police ProvincialDirector, who is from Kidapawan, is now the
new Chief of Davao City Police Office.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte on Tuesday told newly-installed Davao City
Police Director Senior Supt. Alexander Tagum to just do his job of ensuring
peace and order in the city and to strictly implement the laws.
“I just told him to do his job and not to listen to anyone. I told him
that he just needed to do his duties and responsibilities as our city director
and to cascade it to his men,” the mayor said.
Mayor Inday said she also reminded Tagum to prevent the occurrence of
the usual crime of theft.
The mayor said Tagum was her personal choice.
“I vetted him properly and thoroughly,” she said, stressing that Tagum
was selected from three shortlisted candidates because of his track record.
Tagum expressed his gratitude to the mayor for choosing him.
“I am deeply honored by her confidence in me and I am now encouraged to
do my best as director of DCPO,” he said.
He also said that he has already laid out plans on how to curb the
perennial problem of thieves and gang wars involving the youth.
He also vowed he will do his best to maintain order in the city.
Mayor Inday said she also instructed the newly-installed city director
to work hand in hand with the Vices Regulation Unit in so far as the
implementation of the anti-smoking ordinance, the liquor ban and the selling of
liquors to minors are concerned.
Tagum served as the provincial director of North Cotabato prior to his
assignment in Abra.
He replaced acting city director Senior Supt. Valeriano de Leon. (Provided News of Biyaheng Du30/Posted by Becky D. de Asis-The Redline News Philippines)
