Lanao del Norte, Philippines (The Redline News Philippines) - LGU of Sapad Lanao del Norte launch a MASA
-MASID a DILG program in support of anti corruption and war against illegal drugs of the present adminastration.

of Philippine Army here together with the Sapad Municipal Police Officials and
men headed by P/SInsp. Rando M. Salvacion and representative from Provincial Police
Office of this province headed by P/Supt. Edwin Mondalo -Chief Operations Officers and Plans,
Engr.Marcelo Enrique B Libot-Provincial Director of DILG-LDN, representative
from interfaith sector headed by Pastor Augustino Noval Jr, Mrs Evelyn S
Madrio-representative from DSWD Region 10, Hon Mary Sheila B Pestolante-Judge
of MCTC attended the Municipal Launching MASA-MASID Summit 2017 (Mamamayang
Ayaw Sa Anomalya-Mamamayang Ayaw sa Illegal Na Droga) held at Municipal Hall, Brgy
Poblacion, Sapad of the said province.
The said activity was facilitated by the LGU of Sapad headed by Mayor Paruk U Asiz, and attended by all members of Barangay Anti
Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), Barangay Captains, Dep-Ed and Religious
sectors.
During the said activity, 1Lt. Dicen conducted short briefing presentation
regarding the current peace and order situation in the area and unit’s
accomplishments with the support to the
anti-illegal drug campaign of the police.
.He also added that the Philippine Army
is willing to supports the Police anytime and anywhere on its program with the
collaboration of all stakeholders especially the local officials specifically
the local populace, he said.
Under DILG Memorandum Circular 2016-116, the program has four main
thrusts: information and education campaign in communities for government
programs against corruption, illegal drugs and criminality; creation of a
reporting mechanism on illegal drugs-related activities; formulation of
community-based rehabilitation programs; and revive the spirit of volunteerism
by creating a volunteer-friendly atmosphere for organizations that wishes to be
partners for change.
Entitled Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Ilegal na
Droga or ‘MASA MASID,’ the program aims to encourage communities to take a
proactive stance in the government’s fight against corruption, illegal drugs,
and criminality.
The MASA-MASID is a barangay-based anti-criminality, anti-corruption
and anti-illegal drugs program of DILG which encourages multi-sectoral
partnership through volunteerism.
The said program is envisioned to unite different organizations in
creating safer and drug-free communities in the country which brought together
barangay officials and religious groups for programs on good governance and
community development, MASA MASID stresses the importance of multi-sectoral
linkages in communities in combating the spread of illegal drugs, as well as
