Sitangkai, Tawi –Tawi – Sitangkai is not only labeled as “the Venice of the South” but it is also called by the Department of
Agriculture as Dried fish and Seaweeds producer of the South. Riched of first
class fishes and all sea creatures around.
Aside seaweeds productions, they produced also a blue crabs, shellfish
and other seafoods .
Dried fish producer Esmael Jamael of Sitangkai said, “naga
deliver ako every week ng 20 – 30 tons of dried fish sa karatig
probinsiya at siyudad dito sa Mindanao”, Jamael Said
“We have a quality dried fish here like Talakitok, Lapu-Lapu, Solid
fish, squid, and more kinds of dried fish”, Jamael added.

Meanwhile, Mayor Serbin C. Ahaja also said, that their seaweed
production has higher demand from the
market because of its quality and good variety. They produced more than
Thousand tons may depend on clients
demands.
“It’s a big opportunity to our people here because we have more source
