Army in Sulu Initiates Tree Planting to Save Water Shed


Patikul, Sulu- The 35th Infantry (Makamandag) Battalion under Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Lenos T Villanueva Infantry (General Staff Course) Philippine Army initiated the planting of 250 seedlings of acasia tree on 04 October 2016 along the water shed of Liang, Patikul, Sulu.

The activity was conducted jointly with the Department of Environment and National Resources of Sulu, barangay officials and local populace of Liang, Patikul, Sulu.


 According to the DENR, the effort will prevent the shortage of water in Sulu particularly in Jolo town and this kind of action will be the priority together with the Philippine Army to support the National Greening Program of the government.
