The celebration was graced by the Commander of the Army Artillery
Regiment, Brigadier General Erwin A De Asis AFP who immediately inaugurated the
6FAB facilities upon his arrival and followed by its traditional blessing of
newly renovated office facilities and coop store, unit vehicle and ammunition
magazine trailers officiated by Father Hilario Asilo, OMI.
The said facilities and equipment have contributed to the increase in
the readiness condition in order for 6FAB to not only perform its mission but
also to boost the morale and welfare of its personnel by providing conducive
working environment.
A Situation Briefing was presented, after the inauguration and blessing
of facilities, which highlighted the operation accomplishment of 6FAB during
the recent fire support mission provided to the operating troops of the 6th
Infantry (Kampilan) Division (6ID), Philippine Army in its Law Enforcement
Operations (LEO).
All 6FAB personnel involved in the said fire support mission were
awarded with Bronze Cross Medal by Major General Arnel Dela Vega AFP, the
Division Commander of 6ID. The said award was personally received by LTCOL
Francis Anthony M Coronel, the Commanding Officer of 6FAB, who also involved
and directly supervising the said fire support mission in the different fire
bases in Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao areas.
Meanwhile, LTCOL Coronel said, “Over the years, 6FAB is significantly
performing while transforming and is continually committed to become a
well-responsive artillery unit that is the source of the Army Artillery
Regiment’s pride.”
Its other anniversary activities were non-traditionally conducted as it
was later-on celebrated in one of its Line Firing Batteries in Central
