The Philippine Army,
LGU and NGO
conducted a FREE circumcision in Sapad Town last week “May 16, 2017)
The said activity headed by
Bravo (Brahman) Company, of 15th Infantry (Molave Warrior) Battalion,
3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, Philippine Army in partnership with the Local
Government Units headed by Mayor Paruk U.
Asis and Alpha Phi Omega International
Philippines Incorporated PC 025, North
Central Mindanao College (NCMC) headed by Ms Aiza Calalo conducted “Free
Operation Tuli” dubbed as “Tulian Sa Barangay”and free Haircut Services.
The said activity aims to foster confidence among the LGU,
non-government organization (NGO) military and the community to pursue a common
goal in supporting the implementation of the government’s program in the
delivery of basic services to the people.
There are One hundred
(100) children beneficiaries from the
different barangay's benefited of Operation Tuli and Seventy (70) local
residents benefited of free haircut services said military.
Accordingly, circumcision
or tuli is the historical tradition to measure a rite of passage boys who have
not undergone the ritual are label “supót” and face ridicule from their peers.
Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin of the penis.
It is a religious or cultural ritual for many people in the
world and can also be a matter of family tradition, personal hygiene or
preventive health care.
According to some scientific studies, circumcision can decreased
the risk of urinary tract infections; penile cancer; sexual transmitted diseases
and it can be easier genital hygiene.
In general, the activity was successfully conducted through the
collaborative effort and active participation of the MLGU,NGO and MHU of Sapad,
LDN for providing medicines and operating materials for the operation.
The LGU, Brgy Officials and Parents were very much appreciated
the volunteer nurses from Alpha Phi Omega International Philippines
Incorporated PC 025 North Central Mindanao College (NCMC) and Medical team this
unit led by S/Sgt. Marlou S Umahag (DS)
of Philippine Army for the successful operation tuli .
It was a very memorable event especially to the eyes and mind of
children who were recipients of this free operation because they could not
