Zamboanga City (The Redline News Philippines) - Vehicular accident transpired along MCLL Highway, Sitio
Mala, Brgy. Panubigan, Zamboanga City at about 10:49 in the morning yesterday.
The Rural Transit Bus with body number 95212 and plate nr JVH 465
driven by Handrew Cagoca Povadora, 39 years old, married and a resident of Brgy
Esperanza, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur and a Fuso delivery van with
plate number AAQ 9198 driven by Nemesio Manligro Lambo Jr., 47 years old,
married and a resident of Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental were both
accidentally bumped resulted 11 passengers hurts during the incident.
Initial investigation conducted that prior to the accident occurred,
both vehicles were travelling towards the direction of Zamboanga City proper.
The rural transit bus with thirty five (35) passengers on board while
the delivery van loaded with dressed chicken to be delivered to Zamboanga City
Proper. However, while negotiating downhill and curve portion of the highway,
its brake developed malfunctioned. Thereby, the driver made signal to the
driver of the passenger bus to give him way to avoid collision.
But despite of his efforts, the driver failed to evade from collision,
thus, he accidentally bumped the right portion of the passenger bus. As a
result, eleven (11) of rural transit bus passengers who sustained injuries on
the different parts of their bodies were rushed to Cristino Paragas Memorial
Hospital, Brgy Quiniput for medical treatment.
Both vehicles are still at the accident site while the driver of
delivery van is presently detained at Curuan Police Station for proper
