Bongao, Tawi-Tawi (By: Becky D. de Asis - The Redline News) – The Bangsamoro Regional Inclusive Development for
Growth and Empowerment (BRIDGE) program of the Autonomous Region in Muslim
Mindanao (ARMM) through the Department of Public Works and Highways
(DPWH-ARMM) awarded 40 houses to the families who belongs to the poor among the poorest in Simunul, Tawi-Tawi last July 03, 2017.
The core houses located in Tubig-Indanan, Simunul, were
inaugurated and were turned over to the
beneficiaries and to the Municipal Mayor of Simunul Bonjing Abdurahman.
The said turned over headed by Governor Mujiv Hataman of ARMM and Governor Rashidin Matba of
Tawi-tawi together with DPWH-Secretary Don Mustapha Loong and District Engineer Toni Kamlani and other
ARMM Officials and employees.
The ARMM –BRIDGE utilizes a
modified community as a development approach “Apat na Dapat Program”, a
poverty alleviation program targeting the most basic needs of the community –
water, food, shelter and light said Hataman.
Governor Hataman added, the programs aims a poverty alleviation program targeting 600 poor families across the region and have a budget of
P204 Million pesos.
Mayor Bonjing Abdurahman said, the local government of Simunul donated
the land where the core houses were built while the DSWD together with LGU who validated the beneficiaries . “
DPWH-ARMM Secretary Don Loong said, the ARMM-BRIDGE targeting poor
among the poorest municipalities of the Autonomous Region.
In Tawi-tawi there
are 3-municipalities: Simunul, Sibutu and
Tandubas, While in Lanao Del Sur; Balindong, Taraka and Lumba-Bayabao, in
Maguindanao; Barira, Datu Anggal Midtimbang and Matanog; Basilan – Sumisip, Tipo-Tipo
and Tuburan, while in Sulu; Pandami, Parang and Talipao.
A certain Nur in, one of the beneficiary said” Masaya ako na napabilang
sa nabigyan ng bahay ng governador ng ARMM, dahil napakahirap na walang bahay
na maayos, hirap pa sa tubig at kuryente, ngayon libre na lahat. Napakalaking tulong
po ito sa katulad naming mahihirap”, said Nur –in during interview.
