Tsokolate at Pandesal discussion of 9th CMO Battalion fruitfully ended - Shoebox project for Marawi seige victims tackled


LEGAZPI CITY –  the 18th session of the “Tsokolate at Pandesal” (TAP) was successfully held at Headquarters 9th Civil-Military Operations (Kaagapay) Battalion, 9th Infantry (Spear) Division, Philippine Army, Camp General Simeon Ola, Legazpi City just earlier.

The fruitful discussions were about the projects in the conflict-affected areas like in the Municipality of Labo, Province of Camarines Norte wherein problems of insurgency occur because of the status of the living condition thereat said military.

The reasons of insurgency problem in the barangays of Labo were the lack of livelihood and infra projects, lack of knowledge on family planning which led to many child laborers and the existence of illegal small scale mining.

Military added that there are mining groups that are not registered to any cooperatives of the government.

The other topic was the Updates on the Livelihood Intervention Program of Barangay Anislag, Daraga, Albay wherein TESDA and Bicol University College of Industrial Technology will provide trainings for the community especially in the relocation sites, tools and materials will be provided by DOLE5 after the trainings, DOST5 to provide technology and other government agencies guaranteed to support the livelihood interventions

The military here  also initiated the  Project Shoebox which to be provided by each government agencies and to be donated to the affected children of the Marawi siege.


The activity was attended by Regional Director s (RDs) Atty. Marilou Duka-Castillo of SEC5 and Magdalina G. Abellera of Population Commission Office 5; Assistant Regional Directors (ARDs) Bea Delgado of NICA5, Arwin O. Razo of DSWD5 and EDna Cynthia S. Berces of NEDA5, and representatives from the City Mayor’s Office of Legazpi, DENR5, DepEd5, DPWH5, DOST5, DOLE5, TESDA5, MGB5, PDEA5 and Bicol University-College of Business Economic Management and its Extension Office. On the other hand, from the AFP were the Commanding Officers, Group Commanders and representatives from 9CMOBn, 91st CMO Company, 901st Bde, 9ID, PA; 5RCDG, ARESCOM, PA; 5th FSSU, ASCOM, PA; 2nd CRG, AFP; MIG5, ISAFP; TOG5, PAF and NAVFORSOL, PN.
