BACOLOD CITY -- A woman was arrested while seven others,
including six minors, were rescued during an entrapment operation in a cybersex
den at Barangay 26 in this city.
The operation was confirmed on Thursday night by Senior Inspector
Lawrence Ibo, team leader of the Cebu-based Women and Children Protection
Center-Visayas Field Unit (WCPC-VFU).
The 35-year-old female suspect was arrested after a week-long
surveillance of her illegal online activities, Ibo said.
The team rescued her two children, a two-year-old boy and a
five-year-old girl, as well as her two nieces, aged 17 and 22.
Three other girls, aged 5, 14 and 16, all neighbors of the suspect,
were also rescued.
Authorities found the woman offering her daughter to perform sexual
acts for a customer online.
Ibo said they are conducting further investigation to locate other
victims.
The woman’s customers were mainly foreigners who pay her through a
money remittance service.
Payment for live shows of nude children ranges from PHP1,000 to
PHP25,000, Ibo said.
He added that charges for violation of cybercrime law, child abuse, and
anti-trafficking in persons will be filed against the woman.
The six minors are in the custody of the Bacolod City Department of
Social Services and Development (DSSD) while the suspect is detained at Police
Station 4.
The operation was led by the WCPC-VFU in collaboration with the DSSD,
Women and Children Protection Desk of Bacolod City Police Office and Police
Regional Office-18, Regional Special Operations Group, Department of Social
Welfare and Development-Negros Island Region, Inter-Agency Council Against
Trafficking, and International Justice Mission.
In May this year, four female minors were also rescued while three
women were arrested in cybersex operations in two barangays in Bacolod.(Marchel
