3 barangay's of Pigcawayan, North Cotabato attack by BIFF - 513 individuals affected

Cotabato City (The Redline News Philippines)  – The Bangsamoro Freedom Fighters (BIFF)  attack Three (3) Barangay’s  of Pigkawayan, North Cotabato at 8:00 in the morning today were in  no confirmed fatalities and hostages as of today.

Rebels toarch One (1) school buildings and hostage students and teachers for their human shields after attacking the CAFGU detachment

Military said, the rebels headed by Commander Abunawas of BIFF who attack the barangay  Malagakit of the said municipality, then they immediately scampered to another two (2) barangays and hostage the whole community including students and teachers, said military today.

Accordingly, the said attacked  of the BIFF i n Pigkawayan municipality  showed their support to ISIS in order to get attention like Maute group.

During Mindanao Hour, AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla Jr. gave the update  and briefing in Malacañang just earlier.

“It’s already resolved,” Padilla said. “They’ve withdrawn, they are no longer there. The school area is again safe. The troops are in pursuit mode.” Said Padilla. “No casualty recorded “ he added.

On the other hand, Police Chief Inspector Realan Mamon, Chief of Police in Pigkawayan , there are certain families trapped in their homes during the firefights.

According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Officer Mercy Foronda, there  are 62 families affected and has a total of 244 individuals from Barangay Malagakit and 15 families from barangay Banucagon,

The PDRRO still evaluating  and give  direct assistance to the affected families.
