Mayor Que of Bongao orders to crackdown on non-registered tricycles

Bongao, Tawi –Tawi (The Redline News Philippines)  – The Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) headed by Mayor Jimuel Que ordered to conduct of chookpoints in two road junctions in Bongao town.

In memorandum dated May 15, addressed to all schools and government agencies, Que instructed two teams from Municipal Traffic Enforcers (MTE) led by PO2 Abdulnasse Jumli.

The checkpoints aimed to conduct verification on the registration and franchise of tricycles operating in the municipality.

Tricycles that were found not registered in Bongao town or have expired registration and franchise were directed to apply or renew, otherwise such tricycles will be allowed to enter the town area.

According to Mayor Que, there 2,000 units of tricycles are operating in Bongao town.

The ongoing crackdown on illegal tricycles in this town is one of the solutions to decongest the road from the excessive number of tricycle units, that cause of traffic during pick hour, said the mayor.

Meanwhile, Mayor also said, the municipal government also jointly participated the Philippine Coastguard t of Bongao to evaluate and implementing the Number coding to all bancas or vessels entered in Bongao waters.

Mayor Que said, this is a good idea on how to control our bancas or vessels entered in Bongao waters just to avoid also the bad elements or extremists wants to destroyed the peace and order here, said the mayor.


He also added, the Martial law declaration is a good thing to capture enemies and has a good result here in Bongao because we are implemented the curfew hours  most especially to the minors.
