Zambo cops implement 'No Contact' policy

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) has implemented effective Wednesday, June 14, the “No Contact” policy in arresting traffic violators within the seven-kilometer radius of this city.

Supt. Diomarie Albarico, ZCPO officer-in-charge, on Wednesday said that under the policy, the traffic violators will be informed of their transgression through the citation ticket that will be posted on the vehicle’s windshield.

Albarico said the “No Contact” policy will target violations like traffic obstruction and illegal parking.

He said motorists who ignore the citation tickets face problems in renewal and registration of vehicle since their names will be included in the Vehicle Information Management System (VIMS).

The VIMS will serve as a reference of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in processing renewal and new registration of vehicle.

The “No Contact” policy will be implemented by the Police Stations 11, 6 and 7, which have jurisdiction in areas within the seven-kilometer radius.

Albarico said the implementation of the policy is aimed to help ease traffic flow from and to the city proper. (TPGJR/PNA)
