Jolo, Sulu, Philippines -Mayor Kerkhar Tan of this town favors on the implementation of ID System with family picture posted outside their respective residence or houses being part of Martial Law guidelines of Joint Task Force of Sulu under Brigadier General Cerilito Sobejana.
Tan said, “if the government wants to implement this guidelines for the good of our constituents”, I will agree to do that and implemented here because we want peaceful living here”, Tan said.
He added , as long as no violation of implementing the said guidelines by the Arm Forces of the Philippines and even our
policemen the Jolo government agree and
supports the JTF-Sulu .
During the joint meeting of the JTF-Sulu with the provincial and local
government including the Non-Government
Organization and Human Rights advocates last
June 01 at provincial capitol just to give information and updates the locals regarding the guidelines.
There are some against the guidelines , more particular the ID system
and family picture being posted in their respective houses to avoid intruders
coming from lawless elements. But later, the said person agreed after the JTF-Sulu commander explained the good factor about the said issue.
Kerkhar Tan also added, the ID system is been already implemented in
port area last year, NO ID, NO ENTRY/Boarding
. “I am very thankful that some of our
constituents here are already aware on
this guidelines”, and they were already have their Ids and other pertinent
papers before they travel outside and inside Jolo port”, Tan said.
On the other hand, Mayor Tan
also added that the municipality of Jolo is the No.I on anti-drug campaign in
the whole Autonomous Region. He said that Police Chief Inspector Almir
Esmael conducted several Double Barrel
reloaded against illegal drug in the whole town of Jolo which is 447 drug surrenderees since the Oplan Tokhang
and Double Barrel implemented in the whole town.
P/Cinsp. Esmael also added, that the said surrenderees are all under
Home arrests because they are no rehabilitation center and even detention cell
cannot cater them, because they are lack of facilities and very congested.
The Barangay Anti-Drug Commitee also helps monitoring
to those in house arrests in their respective barangays, said Esmael.
